Obituary for Betty Jane Fronefield

Betty Jane Fronefield passed away on February 1, 2022. She was born on May 22,1933 in Gloversville, New York. Betty resided in Huntsville from 1968 to 2018, when she moved to Houston, Texas to be near family. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from State University of New York.

Betty was an elementary school teacher for thirty years. She was an avid doll collector and enthusiast and supporter of the Huntsville EarlyWorks Children’s Museum.

Betty was a kind and compassionate friend. She was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandma. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will live on through the memories of the all the people she touched.


Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and oldest son, Christopher.
She is survived by her two sons, Daniel H. Fronefield and his wife Suzanne, Dr. Stephen Fronefield and his wife Diane; and four grandchildren, Daniel Fronefield, Alicia Englert and her husband Joshua (great-grandchildren Quinton, Adelena, and Theodore), Carson Fronefield and Ethan Fronefield. Betty is also survived by step grandchildren, Derek Muenzel and Vikki Reeves; and sister, Anita Frederick.

A private family funeral will be held in Pennsylvania where she will be interred with her late husband Ted.
