Obituary for Brian Teel Jefferies

Brian Teel Jefferies died Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas, November 14, 1947, to John Fred Jefferies, Jr., and Louise Jefferies and graduated from Austin High School. After attending Houston Baptist College for two years, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. While on leave between two tours of duty in Vietnam, he met his wife Jane Criner. They married after his return from Vietnam and lived in California while completing his enlistment.

Brian spent the remainder of his life in Houston serving as a police officer with the city of Houston and with Hedwig Village until his retirement. He was proud to be a Texan and particularly enjoyed his time spent with relatives in Goliad and Victoria giving him the opportunity to get closer to the land he loved. Any extra time to travel was spent exploring the Texas Hill Country.

His greatest joy was spending time with his son Robert Teel Jefferies and Robert’s family. He is survived by his wife Jane, son Robert and daughter-in-law Alison, and their children Jenna and Ruby.

Brian is a member of South Main Baptist Church. Services will be held in Westmoreland Chapel of South Main, 4100 Main St., at 1:00 pm on October 27, 2022. An inurnment will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., at 10:15 am on Friday, October 28, 2022. The family asks that remembrances be sent to the Semper Fi Fund, South Main Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, or Operacion San Andres.
