Charles Edward Terry, II passed away on Saturday the 2nd of May 2020 in Houston, TX. He was born the 10th of August 1970 to Charles Edward and Blanche Vasquez Terry in Houston, TX. Charles was a lifelong Houstonian and believed in giving back to his community. He was known and loved by many. His family called him Grandpa Charlie, Brother, Unc, and CT.

Charles can be described as a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was always the life of the party. If you ever played pool with him you would soon find out he was a sharp player and might teach you a thing or two.

He recognized the importance of the upcoming generation and wanted to instill values and give advice as best as he could. He was a TASCO Certified Umpire, member of the Northwest Baseball Association, STA-MO also Select Tournaments and other leagues throughout the Houston area. He was also an Offensive Line Little League Coach for the North Houston Oilers.

Charles graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1989 and attended CHCP College and earned his degree in Medical Coding. He worked at Republic Services as a Medical Records Specialist where he was also loved and supported. Over his life time he attended The Heights Church and rededicated his life to the Lord at Lindale Assembly of God with his mother by his side. He shared this with some of his family members.

I remember when my family would visit little Charles and his mom, when he was a toddler. He was so sweet, chunky, adorable, calm and content. Even as a toddler he had an infectious charm.
Charles life example reminds me of the Spiritual concept “God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.” Charles is in the same space of such ordinary people as Moses, David, Peter Simon, Mary, and Gideon, each an ordinary person who God chose to do extraordinary things. Charles taught me in his ordinary daily living that he allowed others’ to feel Christ’s presence through his patient, consistent and open heart. And that is extraordinary. I will miss your gentleness, our funny talks, all the ever evolving nicknames we had to memorize and keep up with, your quick smile, how fiercely protective you could be, your 143, thank you for teaching me that, your open heart, how you really listened and genuinely cared and your quick wit, that is SO Vasquez! We love you “Raging Bull”! 1 Peter 2:9, Luke 18:27

My heart feels so heavy today learning of your passing my dear friend Charles Terry. You were taken too soon and I will miss you terribly. How can someone with such a beautiful heart have their heart stop beating? It simply defies reason. Having worked with you for nearly 8 years you always made me smile. You were not just a colleague you were a best friend and comrade, like a big brother. You always wanted me to bring turkey chili when we had pot luck luncheons. Your jokes were corny, but your soul was strong and you always made me smile. You loved the fool out of baseball. You brought joy to so many little leaguers as a coach, umpire and mentor. You had a little giggle that was contagious. You were always there for me when I needed you. I can only try and find comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering and no longer in pain and discomfort and that you have finally found peace in Heaven. It won't be the same without you, Charles. I just saw you last week and talked to you 2 days ago. I am so sad you are gone. You will not be forgotten. My heart goes out to your family and other friends. Rest in peace my friend - until we meet again. 🐦🌷🙏❤
