John Woodrow Eggleton Jr. ,75, was called home to our lord on November 27, 2020 in Katy, Texas, surrounded by his loving daughters. He was born in Teays Valley, West Virginia and moved to Houston, TX with his family in the 1980's.
John was a Naval Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a loving devoted father and an amazing PaPa. A hard worker who always seems to make something out of nothing. He was an avid fisherman and loved all sports, playing and also coaching his daughters. Most Sunday's you could catch him refereeing NFL games from his couch or having a couple of beers while yelling at the TV during baseball games. He was a very proud man of many things but his grandkids had to be what he was most proud of. He never turned down a party or a get together as long as food and beer were provided. Everyone that knew him would definitely call him a friend and someone that would be there for you when you needed someone to lean on.
John is preceded in death by his parents John Woodrow Eggleton Sr. and Margaret Lillian Eggleton (Moss). Also his wife of 37 years Linda Joyce Eggleton (Steele). He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly McQueen and husband Anthony McQueen of Houston, TX, daughter Stacy Eggleton-Wilson and husband Rodney Wilson of Houston, TX, daughter Nicole Eggleton and Luis Cavazos of Houston, TX, granddaughter Kelli Eggleton of Converse, TX, grandson Jailyn McQueen of Austin, TX, grandson Kameron Wilson of Houston, TX, grandson Jordan McQueen of Houston, TX, grandson Landin Eggleton of Houston, TX, grandson Kaden Wilson of Houston, TX. He also leaves behind many brothers, sisters and countless family members who loved him.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday the 15th of December at 11 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. Prior to the funeral, the family will gather from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. for a visitation at A Sacred Choice Funeral Home at 4740 Dacoma St. Ste. A, in Houston.
