Obituary for John Lee Maberry

John Lee Maberry was born in Sweetwater, TX on March 24, 1950. He passed away on September, 11, 2019 in Houston, TX. John has an associate degree in computer science. He had several jobs in Fort Worth, TX including a clerk at Larry’s Shoes. He moved to Houston with Larry’s Shoes and then started working at Houston Community College as computer technician while earning his degree there. He then had the position of Network Administrator at the same college and then taught networking classes there also. John was as member of Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX and was involved with the choir there. His hobbies were photography, fixing computers and flying drones. He was a very loving and kind person and loved to teach others his knowledge.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and La Waunda Maberry, and his brothers, Clarence and Terry Maberry. He is survived by his wife, Janet Coulson Maberry, sister-in-law, Ann Maberry of Pritchett, TX, nieces, Patricia Watkins married to Darren, of Pritchett, TX, Margie Flowers married to Chris of Pottsboro, TX, Kara Maberry of Palestine, TX, nephew, Joseph Maberry married to Sarah, of Dayton, TX, Terry Maberry of Longview, TX and many great nieces and nephews.
We would like to recognize Methodist Hospital for all the good care they gave John and for Second Baptist Church of Houston, TX for their support throughout his illnesses.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church Woodway Campus at 1:00, Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Second Baptist Church or Houston Baptist University.
