Lenora “Anne” Terry Berry was born on the 18th of September 1944, in Laredo, Texas to Lora Ruth Lindholm Terry and Thomas Neal Terry, the second of three daughters. She died on Saturday, the 28th of January 2023, in Magnolia, Texas at the age of 78.
Anne graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston in 1962 and attended Texas Woman’s University. For more than 28 years, she worked as an Office Manager, a Financial Manager, and an Employment Benefits Coordinator at the law firm of Hutcheson & Grundy, LLP before the partners voted to dissolve. She continued her career at Chase Bank of Texas as a Trust Analyst and at Bell, Ryniker, Letourneau P.C./Blank Rome LLP before retiring.
Anne took pride in attending monthly meetings at The Baker Institute at Rice University and was an active member of The Junior League of Houston for more than 5 years. She enjoyed dining monthly with ladies from her graduating class at Bellaire and participated in the organization and planning of their widely attended reunions. She loved nature, farms, and fishing and all the creatures contained therein. She enjoyed telling tales of “my Big Bend,” and for a season pursued lessons and a license in hang gliding.
Anne was a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas for more than 20 years. Her passion was serving in the choir where she also participated in several choir tours through England, Scotland, and France. She also faithfully served as a member of the Altar Guild.
Anne is survived by her sister, Margot Terry Heard; her step-sister, Matilda Walker Henry; her daughter, Cassandra Elisabeth Berry; her daughter, Laura Anne Berry Westbrook and her husband Steven Craig Westbrook; her grandchildren, Neal Alexander Berry and his wife Melissa Lemmon Berry, Shelby Nicole Westbrook, and Trey Steven Westbrook; nieces and nephew Margot Elizabeth Heard Clarke and her husband Kevin M. Clarke, Thomas W. Heard, Anne Matilda Heard Patin and her husband Jeffrey Jude Patin. Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Marylynn Terry Selzer.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 9th, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road. The family invites you to livestream the service using the following link
