Obituary for Lois Laverne Cain

Sweetwater Texas was blessed by the arrival of Lois Laverne Cain on May 28th, 1932. She was born to her parents Pattie and John Harris and was one of six children and many foster children. She was a tomboy and loved to play with crawdads and tarantula spiders. She loved the outdoors and was always a live wire. She was mischievous and loved to pull pranks on everybody. She would laugh like crazy when somebody would have a simple accident.

She met the love of her life when she was just sixteen years old and married Glendon Cain on August 21st, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, by the Justice of the Peace. They survived over 50 Years of marriage. Together they had four children. The eldest child only lived a few months due to having a heart defect. They were blessed to raised three children to adulthood. She and her husband always made it a point to take the family on a yearly vacation. They resided in Lubbock, Texas for over forty years before moving to Waco, Texas, in 1988. While living in Waco our mom received the greatest gift from God she could have ever been given. Her husband gave his life to God and became a faithful Christian. They were privileged to attend Apostolic Tabernacle of Waco in China Spring, Texas with Pastor Steven Daywit.

She went to her reward on March 25th, 2023, after battling Alzheimer’s, she was 90 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents Pattie and John Harris, her husband Glendon Cain, her sons Tommy Blake and Glendon Leslie Cain and her brothers and sisters.
