Margaret R. (Meg) Horner, 71, of Houston Texas passed away on December 7, 2020.
Meg was born into a military family in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, attained designations of CPCU, ARM, and CPIW and proceeded with her career in the corporate insurance industry. She moved to Houston in the 1976 and worked for the city’s leading insurance agencies, retiring from Aon Risk Insurance Services as Vice President. She was an active member of the National Association of Insurance Women, and Insurance Professionals of Bellaire.
Meg was an avid reader, loved cats, hot air balloons, flying (she got her pilot’s license before her driver’s license) travel and Snoopy. She was kind, gentle, considerate, generous, a very loyal friend and the most intelligent person one could hope to meet. She is survived by her brother Henry Horner, of Yellville, AR, and great friends Tammy Allyn , Mary Williams and many others in Houston and elsewhere - as well as countless shelter animals that she helped support. We will all miss Meg so very much.
A memorial service will be held for Meg on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Dr., with Rev. Beth Case officiating. The service will be live streamed at
