Obituary for Elizabeth Ross

Margaret Ann Elizabeth Ross died from automobile injuries on the 26th of September 2022. She was born to Evander McIver Ross and Bertha Sawyer Ross on the 5th of May, 1949. She Attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio and Oklahoma State University. She was employed as one of the editors for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in Tulsa,OK, and The Cotton Digest, Houston, TX.
Margaret joined the US Army WAC class at FT. Mc- Clellan with a commission of 2LT. She served 10 years active duty in Texas, Germany and Virginia. While in Ger- many, she earned a master’s degree in communication from USC. She then served nineteen years reserve in Houston, TX. retiring LTC.
After retiring from active duty, Margaret worked for the city of Houston in the police and planning departments, retiring after twenty years. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daugh- ters of the Republic of Texas, Magna Charta Dames and a communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
Margaret was preceded i death by her parents; and by her brother, Evander McIver Ross, III and is survived by her brother, John Sawyer Ross; sister-in-law, Sylvia Ross; and cousins, Linton Ar- baugh, William Arbaugh, and John V. Arbaugh of Houston.
Interment service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 18th of November, Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In accordance with her wishes, memorial contributions, may be directed to Second Chance Pets, at www.secondchan- cepets.org.
