I am Linda DeRouen from Lake Arthur, LA. Ms Peggy Wilgis taught classes and coached girls' basketball in the late 1960s early 1970s at St. Maria Goretti High School in Lake Arthur. She taught me Chemistry and Physical Ed. Coming from Maryland I believe, she brought a whole new world to our small town students! She was well respected and loved by our students. She was a part of the VISTA (Volunteers In Service Teachers of America) teachers at that time as we had several other of her fellow teachers as well.
Just wanted Ms. Wilgis' family to know that even after so many years, she was still respectfully remembered.
