Obituary for Melanie George

Melanie Loraine Phillips George went to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus on March 25th after a brave battle with breast cancer. Her family shared their warm good-byes to her at her daughter Meagin’s home before she peacefully passed away.

Melanie was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Joe and Loraine Chavers and Alfred and Adele Phillips.

Melanie is survived by her loyal husband, John George, her loving parents, her mother, Suzan Chavers Deison and her step-father Joseph Colangelo and her loving father David Wayne Phillips and step-mother Jana Phillips, her beautiful daughters, Morgan Isbell, Meagin Small, Madison Isbell and Montana Isbell, her son-in-law Shane Small and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Scarlett & Everett Small and Marley Ageymang, her brother, David Grant Phillips and sister-in-law, Samantha Phillips and their children, Lauren, Chloe & Grey, her sister, Taylor Deison and many loving cousins.

Melanie loved her family and dedicated her life to making them happy. She was an entrepreneur extraordinaire and loved to cook. She used all her Grandmother Chavers recipes to show her love and carry-on family tradition at holidays. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours birdwatching in her backyard and playing with her dogs. She was happiest doing for others and was the most unselfish giving person you could ever meet.

Melanie’s family wishes to thank the many family members and friends who have been so kind to Melanie throughout her life especially during her cancer treatment. She was truly blessed to have so many people who loved her.

In one of the stars, I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. Rather than shed tears because she is gone, her family will smile because she has lived. Our precious memories of her will never die.

Memorial Services will be at the First Baptist Church, Conroe on Wednesday, March 30th, 2:00 pm. A celebration reception of Melanie’s life to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to support Melanie’s oldest daughter, Morgan who has a severe disability, and will now be cared for under the guardianship of her sister, Meagin.
