Obituary for Samuel Richard Salinas
Samuel “Sam” Richard Salinas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He went to be with the Lord on December 6th, 2022, at the age of 71.
He was born to Joe and Beatrice Salinas on August 23, 1951, in Houston, TX. Sam met his wife Mary “Liz” while working at LB Balfour. They would bring three children into the world: Manuel, Jason and Sarah.
Sam and Liz gave their lives to The Lord and quickly joined the ministry at Lakewood Church in 1979.
Sam was known to make everyone smile if not laugh with his humor. He loved the outdoors, always taking his family fishing, camping and on road trips. His house was filled with Tejano and Oldies music along with savory smells of his Barbeque. He hosted many gatherings and made many friends.
He is proceeded in death by his father Joe and mother Beatrice, his brothers and sister: Joe Jr, David, Gilbert, Felix and Alice. His wife Mary and son Manuel.
He is survived by his son Jason and daughter Sarah, brother Ray Salinas, daughters-in-law Neri Salinas and Rachel, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren, Jacob, Dominique, Isaac, Mia and great-granddaughter Ailina.
The family will receive friends and family for a memorial service on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the third floor chapel at Lakewood Church, 3700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX.
