Obituary for Tammy Arnold

Tammy Arnold (Tamara Sweeney) is now with those who have passed before her. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 1, 1962 to Beverly Taylor and Barry Sweeney. Tammy took her last breath surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2022 at the young age of 59.

Tammy is preceded in death by her mother Beverly Taylor and her father Barry Sweeney. Tammy is survived by her girlfriend Stacey Gressett, her daughter Julianne Dishongh, her granddaughter Erya Uc, her grandson Ryean Uc, her son-in-law Edgar Uc, Julianne’s mother-in-law Bertha Gonzalez, her sister Lori Hernandez, her brother-in-law Jorge Hernandez, her cousin Marla Sweeney Decker, along with many nieces and nephews.

Tammy was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. It was common to see her with treats or dog food either in her purse, car, or in her pockets to give to dogs. It wasn’t unusual for her to risk her life to help an animal in need.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Tammy. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her two grandkids. Tammy loved the Fall season and her family thinks it’s a coincidence that she left us on the first day of Fall. Every time it rained, that also brought her comfort and joy.

Tammy was quite frank when speaking about how she wanted her obituary to be - she didn’t want anything mentioned about “fighting a courageous battle” with cancer as in her words she, “did the next right thing” in hopes of ridding her body of the disease. Unfortunately, her attempts were not successful and she passed from stage four colon cancer that had spread throughout her body. Tammy’s daughter and girlfriend will say she did put up a fight through numerous rounds of chemo and surgeries coupled with the horrible side effects of both over the past nine months as they saw it first hand.

As per Tammy Arnold’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Her ashes will remain with her daughter per her request.
