Obituary for Virginia Lee Wegner (Oaks)

Virginia Lee Wegner passed away on Monday, the 22nd of August at the age of 90 after suffering a stroke in October of last year.

She was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma the 3rd of March 1932 to Urban and Mamie Oaks.

Virginia worked briefly for Bell Telephone Company before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker for over 69 years.

Virginia attended East High School in Wichita, Kansas and Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Vinson Leus Wegner. They were married on the 23rd of September 1953. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage prior to Vince’s death on October 31st of 2015.

Virginia is survived by sons, Daniel V. Wegner, David A. Wegner, grandchildren, Amy Grimme along with husband Ben and Winston O. Wegner. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Summer Grimme, Charlotte Grimme, Evangeline Grimme and Jane Grimme, sisters-in-law Irene Tittle and Ruth Wegner along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia
was preceded in death by brothers and their spouses, Earl Oaks (Alma) and Fred Oaks (Alice). Niece Joyce Oaks and nephew Steve Oaks.

Friends are cordially invited to a graveside internment service to be conducted at 10:30 in the morning on Saturday, the 27th of August at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
