Manuel “Manny” Rene Salinas, native Houstonian, died October 1st 2020. He was born on December 15th, 1972 to Samuel Richard Salinas and Mary Elizabeth Loya.

Manuel graduated from Jeff Davis High School and attended the Art Institute of Houston. Shortly after, he served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps.

Those who knew Manuel knew that working was his hobby. Among other things he loved coaching, contracting, umpiring, and graphic design. He coached softball for over 15 years for the Red Hots, Texas Velocity, and Houston Power.

Manuel loved listening and sharing music with everyone. He was a very caring and generous person. He was a selfless man by always helping others and making sure everyone was taken care of before himself. Manuel was always making people laugh with silly videos, funny jokes, and his famous sit-down dancing. He was a social butterfly and always made friends everywhere he went, especially at the ballpark. The family would have to wait hours for him to finish his final conversations, which typically ranged from softball to any topic he came up with. He was the most down to earth person we knew and touched every family’s life through softball. Manuel was the life of the party and did not want anyone to feel left out. He was a proud dad of three unpredictable kids, loving husband, and all-around amazing friend to others.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Neri Salinas; son, Jacob Salinas; daughter, Dominique Salinas; daughter, Mia Salinas; father, Samuel Salinas; mother, Mary Salinas; brother, Jason Salinas; sister, Sarah Salinas. The family resides in Houston, Texas.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th, at noon at Lindale Church, 503 Reid Street, Houston, Texas 77022. Prior to the funeral the visitation will be held from 10 am until noon.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006.
