Max and I were best friends at Pietzsch Elementary School in Beaumont. He was the only child of loving parents. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips both worked, so Max got to spend a lot of time with his grandmother, Mrs. Ball. His father's parents lived a few houses down the street. Max's family was very modern. I remember that they had a Picasso reproduction in their living room, and in December they put up an aluminum Christmas tree. When we were in elementary school, Max already had his own business: Fancy Fish Aquarium. He ran it from a building in his parents' back yard. He had several aquariums, with both fresh-water and salt-water fish. My friendship, with Max had an important part in my growing up. I will always be grateful to him for that.

I enjoyed receiving Christmas cards from Max for the past ten years or so. He sent elegant greetings, always with a handwritten message. I wish I had known Max better in our long ago school days. I send my condolences to his family and friends. May Max rest in peace.

Max and I were friends all through school. He was nice, always polite, and had a really funny dry sense of humor. In high school, he played the bass, I played the viola, just in front of the bass section. We shared a lot of laughs during this time. I am sorry to hear of his death. My prayers cover those close to him.

Max and I went to school together at MacArthur and South Park High and had many classes together. I was so sorry to learn of his death. I remember him as a genuinely nice guy who easy to talk to. I wish we'd been able to drag him to our class reunions.
